The Top 100 Boat Ranking Recognizes the Creme de la Creme of Marine Dealers.

Since 2005, Boating Industry has been ranking the best boat dealers. The Top 100 Award Program is designed to recognize and celebrate the best-of-the-best among marine dealers and to share best practices and benchmarking data with the boating community.

The Top 100 ranking recognizes the créme de la créme of marine dealers who are unsurpassed in over-all business operations, customer service, marketing and professionalism. It is one of the most coveted awards in the marine industry.

What does it take to be recognized as a Boating Industry Top 100 Dealer?

Managing a dealership to high levels of customer service, high-volume sales and yes, adequate profits, is no easy task. Simultaneously creating an atmosphere that exceeds high consumer expectations can be even more difficult. For the most professional of dealerships, however, these tasks have not only become second nature, but they are firmly integrated in the business’ day-to-day operations. They understand that delivering on the promise of the boating lifestyle—not just a boat—is the number one key to success.

With over 8,000 marinas and boat dealerships across North America, applications for the Top 100 Program were considered by a non-partisan panel of industry giants, including a cross-section of finance companies, boat manufacturers, vendors and engine manufacturers. These panelists judged dealers based on set criteria, including current financial success, long-range planning and viability, customer satisfaction and retention, and their efficiency of internal systems.

Dealers were rated on not only performance, but also quality initiatives, such as continuous process improvements, marine industry and personnel certifications, on-off water training for customers, customer service initiatives and dealer dress code.
